Archibald Dalziel

Description: Archibald Dalziel was born in Scotland in 1740 and became a surgeon for the Company of Merchants Trading to Africa in 1763. His first posting was at the Cape Coast Castle where he also began trading enslaved people. The Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade Database exhibits Archibald Dalziel engaging in 13 slaving voyages as a ship owner and trafficking 2956 people.
