Description: Printed deed of sale for one sixteenth of the ship ‘Charming Sally’ to Charles Baird of Antigua from George Chandler and Duncan Davidson, merchants of London. Davidson is listed as a subscriber to Lloyd’s prior to 1800. Baird paid £83:15:0 for his share on 9 January 1773. The master of the ship was James Ogilvie, who wrote a note on 5 March 1773 that he had recieved from Charles Baird £35:18:09 for the outfitting of the ‘Charming Sally’.
