Description: Printed Ship and Goods ‘SG’ Policy for the ship ‘Diogenes’ to sail from New Orleans to Fleetwood or the United Kingdom, with leave to call at all West Indian islands and colonies, underwritten in London. The agent was W P Litt & Bushby by order of W C & Sons. The goods underwritten on this policy were 191 bales of cotton valued at £1500. There is a Spanish slave ship of the same name which made two slave voyages in 1834 and 1838.
